The vulcan born sound of KALEO
It is no secret hat i do love the beauty of volcanic isles, but I only recently discovered the beauty of music born on a volcanic island. The four-piece band KALEO was founded in a small icelandic town just outside of Reykjavik and on top the bandname means “the sound” in Hawaiian. Apart from really really great folk music, they actually shot the music video for Way down we go in the lava chamber of a still active volcano. The bands base since 2015 is Austin, Texas, a home just perfectly fitting for their sweet Folk/Blues/Country tunes.

Sprayed Granite & Glitter
Clones of wooden artworks, painted on a blended surface of Spray Paint and Granite Spray. I love preparing the underground for this paintings as it involves mixing the varnish on the surface of a water basin and than raising the wooden board from underneath to catch the marbled varnish.

1-2mm Slate
My latest obsession. A only 1-2mm thick slate plate with an unpredictable uneven stone surface. The awesome thing being, that plates are available in all natural shades of slate (and there are plenty of wonderful colorings). Although right now I prefer the dark colors, there are still plenty of options for future projects.

My prefered painting ground. Natural, untreated wooden boards, light-shaded and varying from a just 1-2mm light elastic plate that needs framing, to 20mm wooden blocks .
